Hey, I’m Justin!

TUFT was born out of a few things: COVID-19, boredom, and a desire to get into the mobile event industry. When we first started, we thought we were crazy by taking on a business like sugar confections. However, over time TUFT has grown into a business that we can be proud of. You will notice that I continue to say “we” because it was not just me who created TUFT. This business is the summation of the support of my family, friends, and mentors.

Our tagline, “There is Joy Ahead,” is intentional. It comes from a place deep in my heart. So, here’s the skinny…

When my son was born, I was diagnosed with an anxiety disorder. Two years later, my daughter was born during the height of COVID-19 and that exacerbated my illness further. At this point in my life, I would say that I was not able to “see” anything in a positive light. I became paralyzed by fear and worry. As a result, I didn’t believe that anything good was happening around me. I had stopped TUFT because I felt that I was silly for even doing something like starting a business.

By God’s grace and the love of my family and friends, I got some help.

Over time, I began to realize that there were so many good things going on around me. COVID is still a part of our lives but I could see my children smiling and wanting my attention. I was able to listen and care for my wife without being distracted by what was going on in my head. The reality was that, every day, I get an opportunity to love and care for my family. To watch them flourish. This was Joy.

Now, TUFT exists to create some semblance of the joy that I get to experience each and every day. I want to create and curate that for everyone that I encounter.

To me, this is Joy. And there is Joy Ahead.
